Current research
-
The coherent control and entanglement of electron spins in coupled quantum dots, aimed at the realization of an elementary quantum computer. See the page of the Delft spin qubit project,
- Spin coherence and confinement of electrons in graphene, a single monolayer of graphite, in which electrons exhibit features of relativistic particles (see also our FOM graphene program website).
Past research (PhD work)
- NMR quantum computation
experiments, including prime factorization of the number fifteen (15=3x5) using Shor's algorithm, executed on
seven nuclear spins in a molecule as quantum bits.
(Stanford University and IBM Almaden, 2001)
